david greenamyre headshot UNOFFICIALDavid Greenamyre, CPA

David joins EKS&H from a Big Four firm for which he worked in both San Francisco and Omaha. David will be based in our San Francisco office as a tax senior manager offering public and privately held clients expertise in a variety of tax compliance and consulting areas, including corporate taxation, partnership taxation and ASC 740 across a wide variety of industries.

Tom BirgeTom Birge, Legal Counsel

Tom joins EKS&H with more than 30 years of experience in corporate law, including 25 years serving the firm externally. He has extensive experience representing clients involved in the financial markets, including broker dealers and investment advisors. Tom will offer in-house expertise related to firm contracts, vendor agreements and risk activities.

Jeff BelairJeff Belair, CPA

Jeff joined EKS&H in 2009 and helps lead the wealth advisory services practice. He helps high-net-worth individuals, including business executives and owners and their families, manage the numerous aspects of wealth accumulation and transfer. Jeff offers clients experience related to complex individual tax compliance and planning, financial planning, and trust and estate design. Jeff has a BS in accounting from the University of Massachusetts. He is involved with the Denver Estate Planning Council and is a board member of the Colorado Philanthropic Advisors Network (CPAN).

Kelly BlahaKelly Blaha, CPA

Kelly joined EKS&H in 2009 after working for a Big Four firm, as well as several years in industry. She has industry expertise serving public and privately held businesses in several natural resources industries, including oil and gas and midstream. Kelly earned a BS in accounting from the University of Colorado. She is currently the vice president of the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS).

Jeff McPhersonJeff McPherson, CPA

Jeff joined EKS&H in 2002 and provides tax consulting assistance to public, private equity and privately held businesses operating primarily in the energy and mining sectors. He offers clients extensive knowledge related to financial accounting and reporting of income taxes (ASC 740), merger and acquisition due diligence, and acquisition and divestiture transactions. Jeff earned a BS in accounting and an MS in accounting from the University of Denver.

Becky Potts HeadshotRebecca Potts, CPA

Rebecca joined EKS&H in 2006. She has expertise assisting public companies with SEC filings, including initial public offerings (IPOs), secondary public offerings (SPOs), reverse mergers and complex financing transactions. Rebecca also leads the biotech industry practice at EKS&H. She holds a BSBA in accounting from Colorado State University and is an active member of the Colorado BioScience Association.

John ReevesJohn Reeves, CPA

John joined EKS&H in 2003 and serves both public and private clients in the oil and gas industry. He offers clients expertise related to partnerships, as well as corporate and individual taxation. John earned a BS and an MS in accounting from the University of Denver. He is involved with the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS) and the Denver Petroleum Club (DPC).

Mark RichardsMark Richards

Mark joined EKS&H through the Infolink Consulting acquisition in 2014 and offers clients more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, including application development (SDLC), application support, database administration, data modeling, system migration, enterprise reporting (BI) and data integration. As a leader in the technology consulting service area, Mark combines logical thinking and creativity to help clients achieve their data and reporting visions. Prior to joining EKS&H, Mark was a managing director at Infolink Consulting and held various positions at IBM Global Services (both in the U.K. and U.S.) and in the public sector. He has a BS in management science from the University of Wales. Mark has earned certification and recognition in many IBM Cognos, IBM Information Management and Informatica programs.

Brian RooneyBrian Rooney, CPA

Brian joined EKS&H in 2006 and helps lead the audit service area. He specializes in financial reporting, public offerings and private placements, SEC filings, stock-based compensation arrangements, derivatives, warrants and inventory. Brian serves clients in many industries, but he is particularly experienced with assisting clients in natural resources, including oil and gas, mining and manufacturing. Brian holds a BA in accounting from Calvin College. He is involved with several industry organizations, including the Colorado Advanced Manufacturing Alliance (CAMA) and the Denver Petroleum Club (DPC).

Jeremy WilsonJeremy Wilson, CPA

Jeremy joined EKS&H in 2007 and serves the strategic tax needs primarily of privately held business clients. Clients look to him for his expertise in partnership allocations, target capital and like-kind exchanges. Jeremy offers his knowledge in the investment fund, services, real estate and technology industries. Jeremy earned a BSBA in accounting and an MA in accounting from the University of Iowa.


Michael DePrimaMichael DePrima, JD, LLM

Michael has been promoted to consulting senior manager. He joins EKS&H with experience in one of the Big Four firms. He earned his Master of Laws in taxation from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law and his Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Nova Southeastern University.


Dave SteinerDave Steiner, Chairman

Dave was recognized for his accomplishments at the annual Leeds School Distinguished Alumni Lifetime Achievement for 2015, which acknowledges alumni for a lifetime of support and philanthropy to the Leeds School of Business and for exceptional achievement in the business community. His outstanding involvement with Leeds, including his participation as chairman of the board, has been instrumental to the school’s success.

Bob HottmanBob Hottman, CEO

Bob received the annual Dream Maker Award for his extraordinary contributions to the Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to resources inside and outside of the classroom to youth from kindergarten to high school. He was honored at the nonprofit’s gala in early November.

Bob is also the incoming board chair of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. At the chamber’s 131st annual meeting in September, Bob became the board chair and hopes to tackle issues such as education, energy, transportation, water and the engagement of independent voters.

Melissa BrownsteinMelissa Brownstein, Audit Partner

Melissa has been selected to receive the Leeds School of Business Alumni Service Award for 2015. This award recognizes the remarkable people who have made significant contributions to the development of the Leeds School of Business, the University of Colorado and the community. Melissa, a member of the Leeds School of Business board, consistently offers her experience and passion to inspire the next generation of business leaders. Melissa received the honor at the Leeds School annual Distinguished Alumni and Service Awards dinner in October.

Ryan SellsRyan Sells, Audit Partner

Ryan has been appointed by the governor to the Caring for Colorado Board of Directors. The Caring for Colorado Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and health care systems for the people of Colorado. The foundation works to address the needs of Colorado’s most pressing health issues and provides accessibility to the underserved.

Jon has passed the third and final level of the CFA exam administered by the CFA Institute, which is a global nonprofit and the world’s largest association of investment professionals. The CFA Institute is committed to creating and maintaining the highest ethical, educational and professional standards in the industry and has more than 100,000 members. Jon has successfully become one of the 115,000 CFA charterholders in the world.

Austin Lentz, Risk Advisory Services Audit Manager

Austin has become a Payment Card Industry (PCI) Qualified Security Assessor (QSA). This certification is designed for industry professionals who seek to assist organizations that process, store, or transmit credit card information with standards implementation and compliance.

Darren HulickDarren Hulick, Consulting Staff

Darren has passed level one of the CFA exam. To become a CFA charterholder, candidates must have four years of investment work experience, pledge to adhere to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of the Professional Conduct and complete the CFA program, all of which takes, on average, two to five years. The CFA program consists of three rigorous six-hour exams, with an average pass rate of 30 to 40 percent, and includes a variety of topics, including ethics, economics, accounting, finance, quantitative methods, equity investments and alternative investments.
