Awards and Achievements

EKS&H has added several talented new individuals to our client service teams and continues to promote those with exceptional skills and abilities from within. In addition, individuals have achieved significant new industry and technical certifications, community recognition, and other accolades. With our expertise and network constantly growing, EKS&H can help you with a continuously expanding set of services. Some of these team developments include:

Team Additions:

Mike SousaMike Sousa, Tax Manager

Mike joins EKS&H with more than 10 years of experience assisting construction industry companies and their executives with audit, tax, and accounting services. He earned a BSBA with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Colorado.



Daniel MaxwellDaniel Maxwell, Tax Manager

Daniel joins EKS&H with more than 10 years of experience, most recently working in the Denver office of a top-ten U.S. public accounting firm. He previously worked as a senior analyst in SEC compliance for Morgan Stanley in New York, NY. He earned a BS in accounting and finance from Georgia State University and a Master of Divinity from the Denver Seminary.



Mike TagtowMike Tagtow, Director of Sales

Mike has been promoted to help lead the sales and business development team for our business technology service offering. He specializes in helping clients with business-focused strategies around business intelligence and analytics, data integration, and project management. He earned a BS in computer science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.


Gary RosemanGarry Roseman, Director of Human Resources

Garry has been promoted to lead the human capital, employee benefits, and other human resources teams. Garry offers more than 20 years of experience in executive recruiting and talent management. He earned a BSBA in management and organizations from the University of Iowa.


Several individuals were recently promoted to Senior Manager in our three service areas and operations. These promotions include: Ryan Cain (Consulting), Zach Cobb (Tax), Crystal Eustis (Audit), Ashley Fandel (Tax), Justin Gienapp (Audit), Maggie Kennedy (Consulting), Elizabeth Maldin (Audit), Jeanette Tolar (Consulting), and Rick Vail (Internal IT).

Bob TinglestadBob Tinglestad, Consulting Partner

Bob has joined the University of Denver Business Information and Analytics Advisory Board. DU’s business information and analytics advisory board brings industry knowledge from a range of business intelligence backgrounds and ensures the academic curriculum aligns with market developments.


Craig ChounCraig Choun, Tax Partner

Craig has joined the University of Denver School of Accountancy Advisory Board. DU’s accounting advisory board includes experienced and recognized industry professionals charged with ensuring the school’s accounting program is aligned with current industry needs and future trends.


Judy CainJudy Cain, Tax Partner

Judy has been recognized as a Leader of Note by the Colorado Society of CPAs and was celebrated for her accomplishments at an event in August. Women selected for this award have attained leadership positions in their organizations, have made notable contributions to the accounting profession, help improve their workplaces, and mentor others.


Lucky HeggsLucky Heggs, Audit Partner

Lucky has been appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper to the Colorado Department of Revenue’s Motor Vehicle Dealer Board. The state government board, filled by industry experts, is charged with regulation and oversight of new and used motor vehicle/powersports dealers, wholesalers, wholesale auto auctions, and salespersons.


Sean McBrideSean McBride, Consulting Partner

Sean has been named the Finance Committee Chair for the board of A Little Help. A Little Help fosters community by connecting senior citizens with services and resources as they navigate the unknowns of aging and build meaningful connections with neighbors of all ages.


Team Recognition:

Inside Public Accounting (IPA) released its annual ranking of public accounting firms in its August 2016 issue. EKS&H was again ranked as the fifth largest in the West Region and showed the fourth-greatest growth rate of firms across the country. The West Region, as identified by IPA, includes Colorado, California, and 11 other states. EKS&H was also ranked the 43rd largest firm nationally.
