Joseph Mudd, CPA, CGMA, Tax Director

Joseph Mudd, EKS&HJoe joins EKS&H with more than 25 years of experience in public accounting, including more than 10 years at Big Four firms and five years with other national and international public accounting and consulting firms. For the past eight years, he served as the founder and owner of a Washington, D.C.-based specialty tax firm focused on accounting method, transaction support, fixed asset accounting, and tax controversy services. Joe offers clients extensive experience in navigating generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and tax accounting regulations, federal tax controversy and defense, and optimizing tax structures for mergers and acquisitions.



Individual Recognition:

Kristen Cole, EKS&HKristen Cole, Audit Manager, has passed the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) certificate exams to earn EBP Intermediate and Defined Contribution Benefit Plans Audit Advanced credentials. This exceptional achievement demonstrates the competencies and quality of service we offer our EBP audit clients.




Team Recognition:

Accounting Today Ranks EKS&H 42nd Largest U.S. Accounting Firm and Largest in the Mountain Region. In March, we were recognized again by Accounting Today in its annual ranking of largest accounting firms. This year, EKS&H was identified as the 42nd largest based in the U.S. and the largest based in the mountain region (which includes Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana).

Mile High United Way Best Campaign Innovation and Collaboration Award. Also this spring EKS&H was recognized by Mile High United Way with its Best Campaign Innovation and Collaboration award during the organization’s Community Champions Celebration. EKS&H has partnered with Mile High United Way for more than 15 years through corporate sponsorships and various community engagement and philanthropic programs including its emerging leader’s council, its steering committee and EKS&H’s young professionals group.
