Many talented senior-level accounting professionals have been brought in to the firm, and several team members have received significant industry recognition and obtained valuable technical certifications. Team Additions:

Rivington GroupWith the acquisition of Rivington Financial in May, the following individuals joined EKS&H: directors Bryan Taylor, Timothy McLemore, Sally Pieper, Deborah Stone-Roberti, Jose Garduno, and Mary Morrill and senior managers Jason Poteet, Joseph Brake, Khaled Abunameh, Aaron Dinwiddie, and Jeremy Lee.

Individual Recognition:

Judy Judy Cain, EKS&HCain, Tax Partner

Judy continues to receive accolades within the accounting and oil and gas industries. This summer, she was recognized as a Woman to Watch – Leader of Note by the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (COCPA) and a Top Woman in Energy by the Denver Business Journal. Judy extends her collaborative spirit to the greater community by working with groups such as the Women’s Bean Project and Virtual XChange.

Gaylen Hansen, EKS&HGaylen Hansen, Audit Partner, Director of Quality Assurance

Gaylen has been appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Auditing Standards Board for 2016-2018. The board’s mission is to serve the public interest by developing, updating, and communicating comprehensive standards and practice guidance that enables practitioners to provide high-quality, objective audit and attention services to non-issuers in an effective and efficient manner.

Kevin DeAutremont, EKS&HKevin DeAutremont, Consulting Senior Manager

Having passed the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) exam, Kevin’s application has been reviewed and approved by the Certification Committee of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He joins EKS&H partner Chris Otto as the second professional to offer clients this level of fraud expertise and insight.

 

Scott Flansburg, EKS&HScott Flansburg, Audit Senior Manager

Scott has been appointed treasurer of Civic Canopy. Founded in 2003, the organization’s mission is “to create a culture of collaboration that drives transformative change.” This goal is achieved through work in key areas, including civic engagement, early childhood, information technology projects, healthy communities, and youth engagement.

The firm ranked as the ninth Best Workplace to Retire From, the 21st Best Workplace for New College Graduates, and the 50th Best Workplace for Millennials. According to Lori Nelson, partner in charge of talent management and human capital, “Talented and driven people are the foundation of the service we provide. Handy NetworksEKS&H was also recently recognized as the second largest Managed Service Provider by Handy Networks, a Denver-based international data center/hosting company. According to the publication, the number of EKS&H partners (60+) and consulting professionals (100+) “make the firm quite influential in how clients in the metro Denver area implement IT.”
