Community Commitment | Diamonds in the Rough Foundation

communitycommitment

Hyde Park Jewelers founded the Diamonds in the Rough Foundation in 2000 to support local charities and individuals in their quest to become, “treasured gems”. Hype Park defines treasured gems as, “those who are challenged and in need of support to attain brilliance not otherwise available to them.”

The Diamonds in the Rough Classic annual golf tournament, was held on July 25th, 2016 at the Sanctuary Golf Course, and was co-sponsored by RE/MAX, LLC. This year’s event, which raised over $275,000, benefited the Denver Health Foundation, Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, and Judi’s House. National and local celebrities, current and former professional athletes, and top business and community leaders gather for the event.

Participants enjoyed a dinner the preceding evening, where Steve Demby with Brownstein Hyatt Farber & Schreck was honored with the 2016 Humanitarian of the Year Award. Past recipients of this award include Les Shapiro, Rich Goins, Mike Shanahan, Haven Moses and Brian Griese, all of whom have made a commitment to give back to the Denver community and beyond.

“At EKS&H, it is important for us to serve clients that share our values and commitment to the community,” said Tax Director Dori Eggett. “The Diamonds in the Rough Foundation and its 17th annual golf tournament is just one example of how a client, Hyde Park Jewelers, truly lives their mission and puts the needs of those less fortunate at the heart of their business.”
