On behalf of everyone at EKS&H, we wish you a Happy New Year!

As 2014 begins, we anticipate many good things for our clients, for our firm and for our employees — opportunities to grow, achieve and celebrate. At the same time, we remember and express thankfulness for those who made our past success possible. We simply could not have accomplished everything we had without you, our clients and friends.

In 2013, our firm achieved some significant accomplishments, and I wanted to share a few with you.

  • Leading EDGE digital magazine. What you are reading now is the first of our brand new, quarterly digital magazine, Leading EDGE. Produced in conjunction with one of our affiliate networks, we hope this publication becomes yet another valuable resource for communicating important information to you.
  • No. 7 Best Place to Work. The Great Place to Work® Institute and Fortune magazine recognized EKS&H with our highest ranking ever — seventh-best medium-sized place to work in the U.S. We are truly honored by this recognition. These types of honors, and the firm culture behind them, are critically important to our ability to hire and retain the best and brightest professional to serve you.
  • No. 48 U.S.-Based Accounting Firm. Accounting Today again included EKS&H in the top 50 public accounting firms in the country — this year at No. 48. We also remain the largest firm headquartered in the Denver metro area and the five-state Mountain Region.
  • Expanded service offerings. In response to client needs, we continue to grow and add more specialized service offerings. This past year has seen the addition of transfer pricing and LEAN/Six Sigma and the continued growth of our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.

Although these achievements give us many reasons to celebrate, we remain aware of the challenges many of our clients faced. From the tragic flooding that affected much of the Front Range to the sobering, slow economic recovery and constantly evolving regulatory changes, you can be confident your nearly 500-person EKS&H team is always investigating how challenges affect you and your organization, as well as looking for new opportunities to leverage.

By working with successful and valuable clients like you, we will continue on the solid growth path we have established. Today we remain committed to our core values and fundamental purpose: to serve others and build trust.

It is with genuine gratitude that all of us at EKS&H wish you a successful 2014. Please contact anyone at EKS&H if we can be of any assistance to you or your organization.

Very truly yours,

Robert B. Hottman
