Awards and Advancement


The past few months have been busy in terms of industry and employee recognition at EKS&H. With several teams and individuals being identified and acknowledged for their abilities, our collection of professionals continues to be one of our clients’ greatest advantages. Recent developments include:

Liz, Sarah, and Allison were honored by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Rocky Mountain Chapter, which serves merit shop contractors within Colorado. The three have been active with ABC on committees and events and were awarded at the organization’s annual awards event on January 21, where EKS&H was named Associate of the Year for the second year in a row. In addition, Liz was nominated for the Young Professional of the Year award, and Sarah won the President’s Award for Outstanding Service.

Gaylen has started serving on the Board of Trustees of the American University of Iraq as well as on its audit committee. In March, spent a week at his first board meeting in Iraq. Founded in 2007, the not-for-profit American University in Iraq has grown to approximately 1,700 students and offers both undergraduate and graduate liberal arts education.

QuickBooks Firm of the Future Contest

In 2015, EKS&H participated in the Intuit QuickBooks “Firm of the Future” video contest and placed second. Participating firms created two-minute videos conveying “Firm of the Future” qualities, such as use of cloud and data technology, characteristics of a trusted advisor, and a strong social media and online presence.
